DONATIONS

Where Donations Come From. What We Do With Donations. What Donations Fund.

Donations fund a huge part of everything we do here at the Salvation Army. It is not without reason that Port Alberni calls itself ‘the community with a heart’.

Over the years we have been fortunate to find generous support from individuals in the community and local businesses. The food bank receives weekly donations from Walmart, No Frills, Save On Foods, Buy Low Foods, Mountain View Bakery & Starbucks.  The Port Alberni Toy Run hosts an annual food drive, and others are organized by local schools. In addition, we receive regular donations from local churches and community organizations.

These donations and the proceeds that come from the Thrift Store make it possible for us to continue our mission of care, which includes filling an ever-growing need in the food bank, and delivering programs to families and individuals in transition throughout the community. Together, we are planting seeds of hope in those who are on the path towards a brighter future.

Individual donations are always welcome.  We accept donations of clean, functioning household items at the Thrift Store Depot, located on the 4th Avenue side of the building at 4835 Argyle Street. Donation hours: Monday to Saturday 9:30am – 2:45pm
